Walk 9 – Warsill and Riva Hill

Length – 3 miles

Grade – Easy

Start Time: tba   Elapsed time – 2 hrs

Description: A gentle stroll around the fields and farmland of Warsill. A leisurely walk, with a few stiles and a short climb to the top of Riva Hill for the view and cup and ring marked rocks.  Circular walk - car share to start.

Walk 10 – Crackpots Mosaic Trail

Length – 7 miles (circular – car share to start)

Grade – Moderate

Start Time: tba   Elapsed time – 4 hrs

Description: Something unique to the area – a circular walk featuring 22 original mosaic panels (designed and produced by locals) depicting local features which you may see on the walk. Follow Patrice (one of the originators of the project) through moors, valleys and hamlets, to green lanes and woodland. Car share to start.

 

Walk 11 – Fancy an Ice Cream?

Length – 16 miles (linear)

Grade – Strenuous (mainly due to distance)

Start Time: tba   Elapsed time – 7-8 hrs

Description: Follow NYCC’s Iain to High Jervaulx farm for excellent, local ice cream! The route follows part of the new 6 Dales Trail from Otley to Middleham  Bring a packed lunch (but not TOO big…).  Transport back to Pateley included. Early start!

Walk 12 – Railways and Reservoirs

Length – 5 miles

Grade – Easy

Start Time: tba   Elapsed time – 3-4 hrs

Description: Local expert Chris takes you back in time from Wath to Angram to show how the railways and reservoirs were constructed and how life was lived at Scar House village. There will also be a film show and transport will be provided.

Walk 13 - Studfold Adventure Trail

Length - short but variable!

Grade - Easy 

Start Time - from 10.30 to 15.30    Elapsed time - as long as it takes!

Description: Here’s something for all the family! An intriguing, fun-filled adventure in stunning countryside for children, parents and parents parents! See www.studfoldtrails.co.uk. Turn up at Studfold anytime between 10.30 and 15.30 (and remember to bring a picnic and something small for the secret treasure box!).

Walk 14 - Try Nordic Walking!

Grade - Easy

Start Time - tba      Elapsed time - 1.5 hours

Description: Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking or hill walking. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing. Tuition by expert Gilly (equipment provided).
