Walk 1 – Walk with a Ranger
Length – 7 miles (circular)
Grade – Moderate
Start Time: tba Elapsed time – 3 hrs
Description: A leisurely, circular walk around Galphay with NYCC Countryside Ranger, Nicky Bunting: woodland, riverside and some lovely old buildings. Car share to start.
Walk 2 – Darley Delights
Length – 8 miles (circular)
Grade – Moderate
Start Time: tba Elapsed time – 4 hrs
Description: Join local residents Kevin and Kay for a circular walk around the vicinity of Darley. A varied walk, mainly over farmland with riverside-side and woodland, plus a possible ‘refreshment’ stop toward the end! Bring a packed lunch. Car share to start.
Walk 3 – Dale Edge
Length – 12 miles (circular)
Grade – Strenuous (a couple of steep climbs)
Start Time: tba Elapsed time – 7hrs (bring packed lunch)
Description: A classic local circular route that starts in Upper Nidderdale and takes in the amazing Dale Edge path. You will experience some of the most remote and beautiful scenery that North Yorkshire has to offer. Climb to Middlesmoor (highest village in the dale) and return via ‘Chad’s steps’ with their spectacular view! Bring a packed lunch. Car share to start.
Walk 4 – A Dales Farm Walk
Length – 3 miles
Grade – Easy
Start Time: tba Elapsed time – 2 hrs
Description: Visit John Rayner's superb Gouthwaite Farm. With stunning views of the reservoir and so much to see, we haven't room to list it all. The walk includes history and archaeology as well as insights into a Dales farm. Easy, but has climbs and rough ground (no footpaths) and may be muddy.
